With the help of Catalystic, Gourmet Restaurant Group were able to streamline their entire IT Infrastructure saving money and providing the management team with better intelligence.

Gourmet Restaurant Group (GRG), owner of the Tiffinbites restaurant chain and business catering service, engaged in a rapid expansion strategy through the acquisition of The Vama Group and The Bombay Bicycle Club businesses.

As a result of this, GRG were left with three different mail systems (IMAP, Hosted Exchange and Small Business Server), three different EPOS systems and employees who were on different networks. The management team at GRG were also wrestling with the challenge of consolidating sales and financial information from their newly acquired business units.

In a few short weeks, Catalystic migrated GRG’s IT Infrastructure to the cloud saving money and providing the management team with better access to information.

Key Highlights

• Catalystic migrated 70 users from the three legacy groupware solutions to Google Apps in one day. User acceptance of Google Apps was rapid thanks to the Catalystic Jumpstart self service training program.
• Catalystic deployed Egnyte’s hosted file server across the GRG enabling the rapid consolidation of files from the three businesses. Egnyte was also a key enabler in collaborating with third parties such as graphic designers and printers by providing secure access to GRG’s brand collateral.
• By leveraging Amazon’s Elastic Computing Cloud, Catalystic consolidated GRG’s disparate EPOS infrastructure, ecommerce applications and numerous websites onto a single hosting platform simplifying infrastructure management and saving GRG £8000 in costs in the first year.
• Catalystic harnessed the power of Google Sites, Google Spreadsheets and Google Gadget technology to create a sales dashboard that retrieved the sales data from the different EPOS systems used by each restaurant chain to provide a single consolidated view of Sales performance across the business.
